The Only Rock of My Salvation

O Changeless God, Under the conviction of thy Spirit I learn that the more I do, the worse I am, the more I know, the less I know, the more holiness I have, the more sinful I am, the more I love, the more there is to love. O wretched man that I am! O Lord, I have a wild heart and cannot stand before thee; I am like a bird before a man. How little I love thy truth and ways! I neglect prayer, by thinking I have prayed enough and earnestly, by knowing thou hast saved my soul. Of all hypocrites, grant that I may not be an evangelical hypocrite, who sins more safely because grace abounds, who tells his lusts that Christ's blood cleanseth them, who reasons that God cannot cast him into hell, for he is saved, who loves evangelical preaching, churches, Christians, but lives unholily. My mind is a bucket without a bottom, with no spiritual understanding, no desire for the Lord's Day, every learning but never reaching the truth, always at the gospel-well but never holding water. Give me a broken hear that yet carries home the water of grace.- Paradoxes/Valley of Vision

Toccoa Week 1

Oh man! There is so much to say about week 1 of Go Tell camp. We got here and we began working. We counted shirts and rolled them. The interns and staff counted the name tags and lanyards. We did inventory and then we ate :] It took us all day! (Sunday) Sunday night we hung out until about 1....130 ish??? (Yep in the morning :]) The next day I woke up at about 530 and went down by the lake and read my bible. God placed the scripture 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 on my heart for the week. It ended up coming in handy during the week with counseling. I used it every session. I really encourage you to look it up! I was excited because I knew it was one of the smaller camps. There were a little over 300 students that came this week. I used to underestimate Go Tell camps. I really did. I have seen up close and personal what God can do through this ministry. We started out with breakfast. (By the way, the food in the cafeteria is awesome... it's just the fact that too many meals can cause one to need BEANO :]) Every day we went to breakfast. Then, the groups would break out and the interns would teach (or the drama team would set up and run through drama practice). The camps theme is beyond boundaries and we have really begun to dig into David and Goliath. Then we started the morning worship with the Ryan Wingo Band's worship.
It was awesome! I learned some brand new songs on my gitfiddle :] Danny Lovette (the president of TTU) spoke every morning (and the first night). He is an awesome man of God who SPITS! Haha... not even like a downpour... it's like a big GLOB OF SPIT. And we know that Jesus is what???? AWESOME! lol. The second night, Clayton King preached and MAN! It was awesome. He is now my favorite under Paul Washer. Tuesday... the outreach team (Amanda Collins, Jenny Laing, Lauren Hamsley, and myself) met with Steve, the youth pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church (one of Go Tell's MAJOR supporters: pray for them as they are finishing up their VBS), and we discussed which places we needed to go and we met up with the Activities Director at Toccoa's Nursing Center... and then we went to the Boys and Girls Club. That second night I counseled five girls about commiting to being on fire for Christ and rocking the world for Him. They all made the commitment not to make camp a spiritual high week, but that they would spend time in the Word daily. It was awesome. These were beautiful children of God. The third night... Rick Stanley gave his testimony. This guys is huhlarious, but his testimony is so serious and so beautiful. Bethany Stanley, his 19 year old daughter, accepted Christ the previous night! It was a literal overnight transformation... God's hand has been so evident over the last two weeks! I had the opportunity to pray with a girl for peace because she thought that God had called her to ministry. It was comforting. Also, there is a group that God had laid upon my heart. Providence Baptist Church. Their youth pastor has been there for 8 months and their youth group is just growing. Each and every one of their youth made a decision for Christ this last week. Also, Atco Baptist Church "The Spooners" had a bunch of paper spoons stapled together; as a tract. They would sneak them in your pockets and your backpacks and you didn't know who did it. My now good friend, David M. (the head spooner), had a convo with me. I said, if you get me ... I will get you back. Wel, he got me and we ended up cling wrapping his door and taping spoons to the doors with staff written on them! It was awesome! Well anyways. God has really just been evident... through circumstance, through person, through the Word.... so many more ways. A boy I had been praying for since the beginning of the week to get saved got saved two days ago. The day he walked in I asked him what his name was and he said this: Tiny. He is a BIG BOY! So he then asked me what my name is and my response of course was: Large :] He got saved along with a sophmore in college named Jesse. She is so sweet! God has really used the interns as well as the staff and He has used the students to teach US things as well. Outreach went really well this week. Wednesday, we had a group of 10 people (two of them students) and we sang hymns in the nursing home and played bingo. The next day we had about 60 students come for outreach and we split between the boys and girls club and the nursing home. Amanda and myself took students to the nursing home. The testimony of Mallory was awesome! She met a man and he told her this: " I am a fish in a fishtank. My ability is no longer to reach people outside of these walls, but you have every opportunity right now. Spread His Word!" She began to ball as we were driving back and she told me that God had confirmed that she would be surrendering herself into full-time ministry! That is just one of many things I have learned from someone else this week. I'll be posting pictures!

Prayers:
-Josh Shoemake, one of our interns, has still not passed his kidney stone. BE IN PRAYER! It's been about two weeks!
- Rest for the interns. We have all weekend to recharge, but this next camp is going to be twice as large and twice as crazy.
- Bethany is a baby in Christ, along with Jesse and Tiny and all the others who got saved. Be in prayer for them as they begin to conflict with their fleshly nature and this new nature that is within them.
- Be praying for the mission trip at the end of the summer. We still need about 35 people to sign up for the Dominican Republic.
-Be praying for the Costa Rica mission trip as well!!! God's working so much it's crazy!
