The Only Rock of My Salvation

O Changeless God, Under the conviction of thy Spirit I learn that the more I do, the worse I am, the more I know, the less I know, the more holiness I have, the more sinful I am, the more I love, the more there is to love. O wretched man that I am! O Lord, I have a wild heart and cannot stand before thee; I am like a bird before a man. How little I love thy truth and ways! I neglect prayer, by thinking I have prayed enough and earnestly, by knowing thou hast saved my soul. Of all hypocrites, grant that I may not be an evangelical hypocrite, who sins more safely because grace abounds, who tells his lusts that Christ's blood cleanseth them, who reasons that God cannot cast him into hell, for he is saved, who loves evangelical preaching, churches, Christians, but lives unholily. My mind is a bucket without a bottom, with no spiritual understanding, no desire for the Lord's Day, every learning but never reaching the truth, always at the gospel-well but never holding water. Give me a broken hear that yet carries home the water of grace.- Paradoxes/Valley of Vision

Just a Few Words

"Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; for "All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but hte word of the Lord remains forever." And this word is the good news that was preached to you." 1 Peter 1:22-25

I read this a couple of weeks ago, and I've been thinking about what God is doing in my life, and how God is using me and I wanted to encourage you with this, I heard once that our view of heaven determines how we live our life. About how we view who God is. Right now, I'm reading A.W. Tozer and I have only read the first chapter and introduction of the Knowledge of the Holy (amazing book!) and he speaks of our image of God being drastically changed as a Church over the years, and he says that our view of God can only be right if we are basing it off of Truth. If we have a view of God that is not as He is but as we "fancy" then, we cannot live moral lives but erroneous ones. He speaks much of the Church today, and how as the body we have become "selfseeking, me, me, me" as a body, and I do not necessarily agree with that, only because of how i have seen the Church and Scripturally what Church is. The body of Christ is not selfseeking, yes, I believe that we have our flesh, yet it is only temperary, for the Holy Spirit is at work within us and has no place with the flesh and sin nature; so we begin to be convicted. A life lived for the Lord is one without life. One without self. I must decrease, You must increase. So taking this passage, I want to encourage you (as I have been encouraged in the Word) to be obedient to the Truth. Really seeking out Whom the Truth is in Scripture and in daily life. Be encouraged that we have fellowship in the Light under the Father that we may edify each other in Him and and glorify His name. We have the perserverance of the saints. For eternity is yet Who He is. "I AM"
I love you all (as brothers and sisters in the King) and I hope you have a wonderful Christ-centered day :)!
Just, Righteous, and Holy God,
I come before you on behalf of my brothers who are reading this. I plead with you to not only encourage them in the Word, but Father to continue to draw them closer to You conforming them to the image of You! For Father, what a joy it is to see brothers and sisters edifying each other under Your name and for Your name. Father, what a joy it is to see others carrying others burdens and delighting in Truth together. Father, it is beautiful to see your righteousness and your justice proclaimed to those who do not know You, or rather You do not know them. Father, allow us to learn who You are. Teach us how to be selfless. Remind us of Your cross, Lord.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
